A person was hit by a vehicle on N.C. Highway 33 West on Monday night, according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol.

Further information of the person’s identity has yet to be revealed, but authorities said the victim was riding in a wheelchair at the time of the accident.

The victim was airlifted to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. There is no word on the person’s condition at this time.
