WASHINGTON EVENING ROTARY
ANGELS N CAMO: Washington (evening) Rotary Club welcomed Lisa Adams, president and founder of Angels N Camo, which grants adventure trip wishes for children who are disabled or have a life-threatening illness.

Following a period of fellowship, the members assembled in the Upper Deck overlooking Broad Creek.

President David McLawhorn called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.  Dr. Jeff Larson led the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance, Bartow Houston led the group in the singing of “God Bless America,” and Lt. Bruce Rabon, SA, offered the blessing.

After the meal, Bill Wall gave a brief update about the annual Charlie Griffin Memorial Fishing Tournament, the club’s major fundraising event, which will take place June 4 with check-in at Havens Gardens.

Bruce Rabon, program chairman, introduced Lisa Adams, president and founder of Angels N Camo, a local organization dedicated to “making dreams come true one adventure at a time.”

The mission of this group is to raise funds to grant hunting and fishing adventure trip wishes for disabled children and for children with life-threatening illnesses in eastern North Carolina.

Adams’ presentation was very interesting, quite informative, and at times, heart touching.

Following questions for the speaker, the members recited Rotary’s Four-Way Test: 1. Is it the truth? 2. Is it fair to all concerned? 3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships? 4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

President McLawhorn then adjourned the meeting.
