Service held to honor veterans of Vietnam War

JONATHAN ROWE | DAILY NEWS REMEMBERING THOSE WHO SERVED: Tuesday, members of the Major Reading Blount Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 15 hosted a service to commemorate the last day United States troops were on the ground in Vietnam, as well as honor and show appreciation for the 9 million servicemen and –women, who served during the Vietnam War. According to Betsey Lee Hodges, president of the Auxiliary, 7 million of those who served are still living today. The service included words from Hodges, Reid Solomon, regent of the Major Reading Blount chapter, and Robert Paciocco, a chaplain that served during the Vietnam War. Pictured are the 11 Vietnam veterans who attended the service. Also pictured are Wayland Steve Woolard, a U.S. Navy veteran, Junior Anici, a U.S. Army veteran and Galon Ambrose, a U.S. Army veteran, all of whom served in the Vietnam War and were in attendance at the service.
