Mr. William E. “Billy” Skittletharpe Jr., 65, of Roper, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, at home.
A graveside service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Craddock family cemetery in Roper with pastor Johnny Barber officiating.
Mr. Skittletharpe was born in Washington County on Sept. 1, 1942. He was the son of the late William E. and Mittie Craddock Skittletharpe Sr. He was married to Jean Spruill Skittletharpe, who survives. He was a former mechanic with McNair Oil Co. He was a member of Shadow Of The Cross Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Rhonda S. Carr and Wanda E. Spruill, both of Roper, Billie Jean LeFever of Pantego and Becky E. Belch of Williamston; one son, Larry Edwards of Jamesville; one sister, Geraldine S. Brickhouse of Albany, Ga.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, William E. “Little Billy” Skittletharpe III.
The family will receive friends today from 7-9 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell, and other times at the home.
