From Hyde County Government 

On April 4, at the regular Hyde County Board of Commissioners meeting, David Howard, Hyde County health director on behalf of Lisa Woolard, from Beaufort-Hyde Partnership for Children, asked the board to make two proclamations in support of the children of Hyde County

The board proclaimed April as Child Abuse Prevention Month and called upon all citizens, community agencies, faith groups, medical facilities, other elected leaders and businesses to increase their participation in efforts to support families, thereby preventing child abuse and strengthening the communities in Hyde County.

In addition, the board proclaimed April 10-16 as the Week of the Young Child in Hyde County and encouraged all citizens to work to make a good investment in early childhood.
