Beaufort County celebrates Week of the Young Child

VAIL STEWART RUMLEY | DAILY NEWS WALKING HAND IN HAND: Week of the Young Child is a nationwide celebration of early childhood education, promoting the fact that learning early can prepare children for greater success in school and beyond. Weeklong festivities included volunteers reading to daycare classes, a children’s parade on the Washington waterfront and a Festival Park event full of fun, educational activities held by Beaufort-Hyde Partnership for Children, in partnership with others. Children from across Beaufort County marched in the annual parade, led by local dignitaries such as 2nd Judicial District Attorney Seth Edwards, Washington Mayor Mac Hodges and Beaufort County commissioners Ed Booth and Robert Belcher.
