The Down East Seniors Club held its May 4 meeting at the Blind Center of North Carolina in Washington. President Ed Hamrick led the meeting. Jim Hackney played for the singing of “God Bless America” and Charlie Mike Smith gave the invocation. Dick Paul provided humor.

Joe Rose introduced Dick Paul as the speaker. Paul told about his early years growing up in Pennsylvania. Later he entered the military where he held various positions involving photography. This experience helped him get started in broadcasting and television. His television career led him to get to know many celebrities; among them were George Burns and the cast of Bonanza. He eventually became station manager of WITN-TV, where he launched many innovations before he retired.

Ed Hamrick won the 50/50 drawing.
