Elsie Clark Gaskins

Ms. Elsie Clark Gaskins, age 89, a resident of Old New Bern Road, Chocowinity, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016. Elsie was born in Beaufort County on September 15, 1926 to the late Curtis Clark and Virginia Moore Clark. On October 17, 1942 Elsie married the late Garland Benjamin Gaskins. Elsie was a homemaker and a volunteer at Beaufort County Hospital for over 30 years and had been attending Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by two sons, Garland Curtis Gaskins, Thad Timothy Gaskins and one brother, Carlton Clark. Survivors include one daughter, Sandra G. Daniels of Aurora, one sister, Linda C. Haislip of Washington, six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly. A celebration of her life will be held 2:00 pm Friday, May 13, 2016 in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Hillside Funeral Service and other times at the home, 312 Old New Bern Road, Chocowinity.
