The Washington (evening) Rotary Club met Thursday evening at the home of Sam and Barbara Grimes, located on the beautiful Pamlico River. The cool weather did not hinder the success of a great family night. More than 30 members and their families enjoyed hamburgers and hotdogs cooked to perfection by Tripp Bliley and Todd Williamson. Before the meal, President David McLawhorn set aside time for a few awards. Membership Chairman Russell Smith received an award for bringing the most new members into the club in the past year. Rocky Jacobs, foundation chairman, presented Paul Harris Fellowships as follows: David McLawhorn received a Paul Harris Fellow, plus one, and Sam Grimes and Bill Wall received Paul Harris Fellows, plus four. Next Thursday night the meeting moves back to the Washington Yacht & Country Club.
