Beulah Mae Bell Warren Rhodes

Beulah Mae Bell Warren Rhodes, 94, also known as “Miss Beulah,” went home to be with her Lord on May 20, 2016, following a short illness in her home. Mrs. Rhodes was born on December 25, 1921 in Chocowinity, and she was a resident of Elizabeth City, NC. Preceding Mrs. Rhodes in death were her parents Donnie and Jessie Bell and siblings, Roosevelt, Herman, Haywood, Magdalene, Ruby, Mary Evelyn, Roxie and Geraldine.

Also preceding in death was her husband of 33 years, Norman Jackson Warren and then her husband of 5 years, David Rhodes.

Mrs. Rhodes is survived by her daughter, Peggy Warren Styons and husband, J. Homer; son, Donnie Warren Sr. and wife, Shirley; stepson, David Lee Rhodes; stepdaughter, Cheryle Water and husband, Glenn; grandchildren, Sherry Styons Hill and husband, Steve, Debbie Styons Grant and husband, Joey, Jackie Styons Woolard and husband, Mark, Joey Styons and Tiffany, Donnie Warren Jr., Cynthia Warren; one step-granddaughter, Frankie Lynn Hill and husband, Chris Hill; brother, David Bell and wife, Eli; and sister, Ann Beachem. Mrs. Rhodes also is survived by 11 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

The visitation was on Monday, May 23, 2016 from 10:00–11:00 a.m. at Journey Christian Church, formerly Elizabeth City Church of Christ. The funeral service for Mrs. Rhodes was held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 23, immediately following the visitation, with Minister Homer Styons and Dr. Melvin Styons officiating. Graveside service was held at the St. Clair’s Church of Christ in Bath, at 4:00 p.m. Monday afternoon.
