Tyrrell tax administrator Sylvia F. Brickhouse reported recently that property owners paid the county $35,063 in real estate and motor vehicle taxes and solid waste fees during April.

Current-year property tax payments amounted to $19,084, and 2015 solid waste fee collections were $6,648.

Accounts outstanding at April 30 amounted to $247,986 for 2015, $97,739 for 2014, $49,901 for 2013, $42,068 for 2012, and lesser amounts for prior years back to 2001, for a total debt of $606,121 owed the county.
