Mr. Harrison Joseph “Stucco Joe” Moyer, age 73, a resident of Chocowinity, died Sunday, June 12, 2016 at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 439 Hodges Road, Chocowinity, on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 4:00pm and will be officiated by Pastor Dale Clark.
Mr. Moyer was born in Chester County, PA, on June 23, 1942 to the late Harrison Moyer and Mary Elizabeth Schroeder. He worked in Stucco most of his life and even earned the nickname “Stucco Joe.” Mr. Moyer enjoyed hunting and fishing. In his youth, he used to build racecars and race them on the street. He was a fan of tractor pulls. In his spare time, he kept a garden and farmed the land. He was a member of the Volunteer Fire Department during his time in Pennsylvania.
Mr. Moyer loved people and was a very caring man; he would give you the shirt off his back just to make sure you had one.
Survivors include two daughters, Christie Moyer Boyette and husband Ralph of Chocowinity, Rita Moyer Bowling of Townsend, DE, three grandchildren, Brian Clark and wife Virginia, Christal Clark both of Chocowinity, Justin Boyette of Washington, four great-grandchildren, Connor Clark, Jacob Garcia, Devonia Burrus, Autum Burrus, one brother, John Moyer of PA, one sister, Martha Weaver and husband Butch of Townsend, DE, a nephew, Tommy Weaver and wife Jill of Middleton, DE, 2 great-nephews, Jake Weaver, Cody Charles, an Aunt Annie Belvins and a cousin, Scott Kirby both of West Jefferson, NC.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Lynn Moyer, a niece Lisa Marie Weaver and a grandchild William Michael Boyette.
