Claude O. Dohl

Mr. Claude Odes Dohl, age 73, a resident of Dowry Creek, Belhaven, passed away peacefully overlooking the beautiful Pungo River on June 24, 2016.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Bath United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Bill Creech.
Mr. Dohl was born in Wilmington, Delaware, on October 5, 1942, son of the late Robert Odes Dohl and the late Alice Gertrude Ross Dohl. On July 10, 1964 he married the former Suzanne Sharp who survives. He was a carpenter by trade as a construction superintendent. Mr. Dohl was a member of the Carpenters Local 626, the Belhaven Rotary Club and Bath United Methodist Church. Claude served his country proudly in the Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis, and was awarded with a letter of commendation. Claude enjoyed golf and was an avid fisherman.
Surviving along with his wife Suzanne are two sons: William Daniel Dohl and wife Paula of Still Pond, MD, and Christopher Robert Dohl and wife Danielle of Wilmington, DE; a sister: Linda Stevenson of Northeast, MD, and four grandchildren: Jacob Dohl of Bethesda, MD, Grace, Chad and Will Dohl, all of Wilmington, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for memorial contributions to be made to Leo Jenkins Cancer Center, 600 Moye Blvd., Greenville, NC 27834.
