It was a special night Monday for the Washington (noon) Rotary Club. While all members knew the evening’s gathering was to induct a new slate of officers while dining at the Washington Yacht & Country Club, not all knew that their club was about to achieve a status that only a few clubs throughout the district and state earn: club recognition of 100-percent Paul Harris Fellows.

The Paul Harris Fellow recognition acknowledges individuals who contribute, or who have contributions made in their name, of $1,000 to The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. As one of his last official duties, out-going club President Steve Wood surprised and honored 31 of his club’s members with their Paul Harris pins and medallions, joining them to their fellow 40-plus Rotarian members, and thus bringing the club to its outstanding 100-percent status.

“This is truly a remarkable achievement, for a club of this size,” congratulated out-going District 7720 Governor Bob Pippen.
District Foundation Chair Charles Gregg echoed these sentiments.
