Vidant awards Community Benefit grants

Vidant Beaufort Hospital awarded $97,600 to a total of 14 recipients as part of its annual Community Benefit Grants program. The recipients included: Albemarle Commission’s Senior Nutrition Program, involving Meals on Wheels service in Hyde County; Beaufort County Health Department’s STD testing at the Beaufort County jail; BCHD’s Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program; Beaufort County Boys & Girls Club’s Triple Play wellness program; Higher Heights Human Services’ Healthy Outcomes program to assist pregnant teens; Coastal Pregnancy Center’s Families of Grace program to get clients to parenting classes; food pantry Eagle’s Wings’ program to promote healthy eating; Food Bank of the Albemarle’s mobile food pantries; Ruth’s House’s physical activity initiative “Get Going, Keep Growing;” Beaufort County-Pantego Community Center’s “Growing a Fit Community” program; Belhaven Seniors’ Center (now club) continued efforts for healthy aging; AED installations in Beaufort County schools; United Way’s Born Learning Trails; and Caring Christian Carpenter’s wheelchair ramps.
