Robert “Bob” Brennan

Mr. Robert William Brennan, age 67, a resident of 6000 River Rd., Washington, died Saturday, July 30, 2016 at his home.
The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home of his daughter: Jessica Sawyer, located at 596 Godley Rd., Grimesland.
Mr. Bob was born in Schuylkill County, PA on August 4, 1948, son of the late James and Anna Corrigan Brennan. He was a 1965 graduate of the Immaculate Heart Catholic Academy in the township of Washington, NJ. Following high school, he served his country in the U.S. Navy where he served two tours in Vietnam and received many combat medals including a Purple Heart. Mr. Bob continued his service in the Navy as a nurse anesthetist stationed at Camp Lejeune and retired in 1991 with twenty-four years of service. Following his military service, he continued his medical career in the home health care field for three and one half years. He later worked for PCS of Aurora as their security coordinator.
On May 27, 1986 he married the former Sena Mary Bryson who survives. Mr. Bob was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving along with his wife Sena of the home are two sons: Ryan Patrick Brennan of Hopatcong, NJ and Shawn Michael Brennan of Orwigsburg, PA; a daughter: Jessica Bryson Sawyer and husband Ivan of Grimesland; a sister: Mary B. Tobias of Ashland, PA; four grandchildren: Haley Hodges Modlin of Lorton, VA, Paige Sawyer of Grimesland, Jina Brennan of Orwigsburg, PA and Maddie Brennan of Hopatcong, NJ and his spoiled and loved dog Lilly of the home. Mr. Bob was predeceased by five sisters: Ellen B McDonald, Catherine Brennan, Patsy Brennan and two twin sisters at birth and a brother: William Brennan.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Triche of Vidant Chocowinity Family Care, Dr. John Inzerillo, Dr. McLaurin and all the nurses and radiation department of Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center of Washington.
