Mr. William Dwain Edwards, age 75, a resident of 207 Fairwind Drive, Chocowinity, died Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Vidant Inpatient Hospice in Greenville.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at the 15th Street Church of God in Washington, officiated by Rev. John Carawan. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Steve Van Staalduinen, Calvin Oakley, Eugene Bell, Jeff Freeman, Danny Edwards, Billy Luckadoo, Coy Woolard and Bill Mallison will serve as pallbearers.

Dwain was born in Beaufort County on December 29, 1940, son of the late William Jethro Edwards and Lucy Bell Crisp Edwards. On August 20, 2011, he married Else Harriett Rosener Nielson of Reykjavaik, Iceland. He was President of River City Construction, Inc., a member of the Washington Yacht & Country Club, NRA and Wounded Warriors.

In addition to his wife, Else, he is survived by his two daughters: Cindy Manning and boyfriend Dana Haddock of Washington and Kim Cox Burroughs and husband Garrett of Chocowinity; his three stepdaughters: Else Koprowicz and husband Douglas and Elizabeth Bonfield of Sterling, VA and Stefania Dodd of Roundhill, VA; his four grandchildren: Walter Manning and wife Elise, Brandan Wilson and husband Matt, Nicky McCullough and fiancé Brandon Hosey and Alexis Dawn Burroughs; and his two sisters: Sylvia Jones of Altamonte Springs, FL and Becky Ball and husband Jim of Parrotsville, TN. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother: Glen Edwards and his sister: Anita Williamson.

The family will receive friends 5:00 PM-7:00 PM on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington.
