Virginia Covington Braxton

Virginia Covington Braxton, of Lakeland, FL passed away on July 7, 2016 at the age of 98. She was born in Vanceboro, NC, on July 18, 1917 to the late William and Bessie Covington. She was raised in Washington.

Mrs. Braxton is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Leo Braxton; two sisters, Nivetta Garret and Margaret Rayburn; niece, Anne Rayburn McCann; and two nephews, Billy Rayburn and Max Rayburn.

Virginia is survived by the following nieces and nephews: Shirley Rayburn, Tonya Rayburn Williams, Greg Rayburn, Doris Rayburn, Gale Sullivan, Larry Howard, Allen Howard, Wesley Rayburn, Betty Lou Baker, Buddy Baker, Pam Carawan, Patricia Winslow and William Thomas Ange.

A memorial service will be held at Wanoca Presbyterian Church in Washington on Aug. 7, 2016 at 3:00pm.
