Summer Slam on the Washington waterfront

WOD (WORKOUT OF THE DAY): Hundreds of CrossFitters from across the state visited Washington this weekend to compete the BOCO CrossFit Summer Slam, a CrossFit competition hosted by Fitness Unlimited in Washington. Spectators crowded Festival Park to watch the event, as participants took turns competing and cheering one another on. Fitness Unlimited owner Amy Thomas said the event was a way to do something new and different, as well as a way for Fitness Unlimited to give back to the community: all admission proceeds are to be donated to Ruth’s House, the local domestic violence shelter, as well as a third of all sponsorship money. BOCO CrossFit Director Manny Vidal said the Summer Slam will be back again next year, bigger and better.
