- TO THE RESCUE: Audra Grisham (left), with Paws and Love Inc., and Nancy O’Neill (right), with Feline Out-Reach of Beaufort County, are hosting a Kitten Adoption Extravaganza event at Little Shoppes in downtown Washington. Both women volunteer to feed downtown Washington cats, as well as assist with Trap, Neuter, Release (TNR) projects. The two also foster kittens until they are ready to be placed in loving homes. O’Neill said the two organizations are in dire need of barn homes for displaced cats and kittens. FURRY FRIENDS: Christina Ruotolo, a local woman, stopped by to visit with the kittens featured at the Kitten Adoption Extravaganza event hosted at Little Shoppes. The event will continue today from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the same location. The event was coordinated by Nancy O’Neill and Audra Grisham, who both advocate for felines and help keep kittens from being taken to shelters. All the kittens featured at the event are fully vetted, ready for adoption and will never see a shelter, according to O’Neill. The kittens range from 3-6 months old.
