Julie Bastian of Knotts Island has received the Shereda Bailey Endowment Scholarship. Bastian, 24, attended Currituck County High School and is working toward an associate degree in nursing. Daughter of Darla Bastian of Currituck County, she plans to work at Duke University Hospital. Bastian currently works at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center as a CNA.

Mara Coltrain of Belhaven has received the State Employees’ Credit Union Scholarship. Coltrain, 17, attended Northside High School and is working toward an Associate in Science degree. Daughter of Gregory and Tiffany Coltrain of Belhaven, she plans to transfer to a four-year university and apply to veterinary school. Moore works as cashier and cook at Farmboys Inc.

Mollie Davis of Pinetown has received the Tayloe’s Hospital Pharmacy Scholarship and the Irwin & Frances Hulbert Endowment Scholarship. Davis, 28, attended Northside High School and is working toward an associate degree in nursing. Daughter of Ottis and Doris Davis of Williamston and mother of one, she plans to obtain a position with Vidant Hospital and continue furthering her education all the way to a master’s degree.

Tribecca Moore of Washington has received the Kimberly & David Teeter Scholarship. Moore, 19, attended Washington High School and is a student in the criminal justice program. Daughter of Anthony and Marie Moore of Washington and mother of one, she plans to work her way up to homicide investigator. Moore works as a vector at Riverside Pet Resort.

Kendal Bowen of Pinetown has received the Southern Bank Scholarship. Bowen, 17, attended Terra Ceia Christian School and is a college transfer student. Son of Brian Bowen and Shannon Greene of Pinetown, he plans to transfer to a four-year university. Bowen currently works at Pantego Lawn.

Jami Granados of Washington has received the James & Evelyn Smith Honorary Scholarship and the James Franklin & Hannah Roberson Bagwell Endowment Scholarship. Granados, 38, attended Penn High School and is pursuing an Associate of Arts degree. Wife of Jose Granados and mother of five, she plans to work at BCCC. Granados is currently employed through BCCC’s work-study program.

Wanda Sims of Washington has received the Tri-County Broadband Scholarship. Sims, 62, attended Howard County High School and is a human services student. She plans to work in the human services field. Granados is currently employed as an event specialist at Walmart and a cook at Travel Store 5.

Marquitta McCray of Washington has received the James Franklin & Hannah Roberson Bagwell Endowment Scholarship. McCray, 24, attended Henry Viscardi High School and is pursuing an Associate of Arts degree. She plans to transfer to a four-year university and major in psychology.

Laura Tate of Engelhard has received the Art & Alice Keeney Scholarship. Tate, 43, attended Mattamuskeet High School, is pursuing an associate degree in general education and is part of the LPN program. Mother of two, she plans to work in a hospice while pursuing her ADN.

Jessi Gibbs of Swan Quarter has received the Art & Alice Keeney Scholarship. Gibbs, 18, attended Mattamuskeet Early College High School and is pursuing an associate degree in cosmetology. Daughter of Jennifer and Jeffrey Gibbs, she plans to open a salon in Hyde County.
