The annual Labor Day Weekend Celebration at Norman Smith Legion Beach on Albemarle Sound will be held on Saturday, Sept. 3. 

American Legion Post 182, the event sponsor, promises fun and fellowship for everyone, and the Legionnaires’ famous barbecue chicken dinners will be served from 4-7 p.m.

The large, air-conditioned meeting hall can accommodate those who decide to dine in, and carry out plates will be available also. Dinners are $8 each.

A 50/50 raffle will be open to all who choose to participate. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5.

“Come enjoy the fresh air in the shade of ancient hardwoods beside the sound, visit with friends and neighbors, take part in or just watch games, and enjoy a special evening meal at Legion Beach on Sept. 3,” said post commander Bill Voliva.

Norman Smith Legion Beach is at 185 Legion Beach Road north of Columbia.
