Calvin Belmont Hill, 89, formerly of Elizabeth City, died Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the Brian Center, Windsor, NC. He was born in Elizabeth City January 8, 1927 to the late Julian Lee Hill Sr. and Ethel Twiddy Hill and was the husband of Dorothy Brewer Hill. Mr. Hill is a veteran of the US Navy, where he served his beloved country in WWII. He is a member of First Church of Christ, Washington, where his son ministers; a former member of Elizabeth City Church of Christ, where over the years he served as an elder, teacher, song leader and sang in the adult choir; and was a former member of the Elizabeth City Lions Club. Many know him and his brother, Julian in Northeastern NC as the “Singing Hills.”

Besides his beloved wife, Mr. Hill is survived by two sons, Dr. Ronald C. Hill and wife, Jane of Apex, NC and Minister Steven B. Hill and wife, Sherry of Washington; a sister, Frances Harris and husband, Miles of Elizabeth City, NC; a brother, Julian Hill Jr. and wife, Dixie of Elizabeth City, NC; and a sister-in-law, Ruby Hill. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lonnie Hill.

A graveside will be held Friday, September 2, 2016 at 3:30 PM in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, officiated by Minister Homer Styons and Melvin Styons.
