Property owners paid $25,869 into the county treasury during July, Tyrrell tax administrator Sylvia Brickhouse reported recently to the county commissioners.

$7,669 was paid on the 2015 real estate levy, $4,082 on 2014, $1,022 on 2013 and lesser amounts back to 2007.

$2,556 was paid on the 2015 solid waste fee, $1,553 on 2014, $496 on 2013 and lesser amounts back to 2009.

On July 31, property owners owed the county $512,147 in taxes; $191,007 for 2015, $77,948 for 2014, $45,881 for 2013 and smaller sums back to 2001.

Brickhouse also reported collecting $3,841 in pre-payment on the 2016 levy. Current tax bills are to be mailed out in early September and are payable without interest through December.
