Karen Taylor’s first-grade class at S.W. Snowden Elementary School took the classroom outside before Hermine brought rain to town. Samira Duncan (below) and Marcus Adams (above) were among those practicing their spelling words along the sidewalk. The beautiful day made for a productive classroom setting. This was just one of many activities going on during the opening week of school.
