Tyrrell schools graded

Preliminary testing data for the 2015-16 school year released recently show that Columbia Middle School made a significant proficiency increase from 43 percent to 53 percent, Columbia Early College High School maintained a school letter grade of ‘B’ and Tyrrell Elementary School achieved a letter grade of ‘C,’ Dr. Will Hoffman, superintendent, reported Sept. 9. 

“We are very proud of the overall success of each school,” Hoffman said. “Congratulations to all staff and students on your success during the 2015-16 school year. With continued dedication and hard work from everyone, we expect 2016-17 to bring even better results.”

Official testing results and the NC Report Card will be released Oct. 18.
