Tundra swans will soon arrive

Time flies, and so do tundra swans. It won’t be long before we have colder weather, and migratory flocks begin to winter at Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge. During the fall, you may still see smaller flocks on the refuge. You might see tundra swans on lakes and ponds, and also in harvested fields of corn, soybean or other grains, foraging for the spillage.
