Helping storm/flood victims

Beaufort County residents, businesses, churches and organizations are helping storm/flood victims in various ways. The following entities are meeting certain needs:

  • The Salvation Army will serve hot meals Friday and Saturday at 4 p.m. in the parking lot of Union Chapel FWB Church, 2110 Old New Bern Road, Chocowinity.
  • Select Bank in Washington (corner of Market and Second streets) is collecting various items. A box in front of the bank has a list of items being collected.
  • First Church of Christ in Washington (520 E. 10th St.) is distributing bottled water.
  • Washington Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram (4001 U.S. Highway 262 West) is collecting bottled water, cleaning supplies, baby formula, clothing and similar items.
  • This list will be updated periodically.
