The month of October is “Dog Adoption Month.”

During the month of October, dogs and puppies at the shelter will have an adoption fee of $55 each. This fee includes spaying/neutering, the first round of shots, a microchip and worming, for each dog adopted. This is a reduced fee with the remainder paid by the Humane Society of Beaufort County. For more information, call 252-946-1591.

Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.

All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To see more animals available for adoption, visit www.petango.com/beaufortcountyNC, visit ENC Shelter Dogs, ENC Shelter Cats and Washington Cat Rescue on Facebook or call 252-946-4517 for more information. The Humane Society of Beaufort County can also be found on Facebook at www.facebook.com/BeaufortCountyNCHumaneSociety.

Belinda

Stunning in her American shorthair coat, this tabby girl is a fascinating mix of spotted tabby (ebony, gray) and white bi-color. Two-year-old Belinda — with her huge gray-green eyes — is friendly, loving and playful. When given the love, warmth and stability of a good forever home, she will blossom into a devoted friend, companion and pet.

Come in and meet Belinda; she’s available through next Saturday at the shelter.

Jasper

Handsome in his jet-black shorthair coat with a white chest area, feet and paintbrush tail, this approximately 2-year-old American pit bull terrier-mix is a loving fellow. Jasper loves attention plus head and chin rubs. Friendly Jasper needs loving owner(s) who will provide him with care, attention, basic obedience training and exercise in a fenced area or on a leash. Jasper will be a faithful, pet and companion in a good, loving forever home.

To see more of him, visit www.facebook.com/ENC Shelter Dogs/ID#1829. Come spend some time with this really nice dog; he will be available through the following Saturday at the shelter.
