Mark James Stevens

Mark James Stevens, age 27, died suddenly at his home at 218 Woolard Lane, Washington, on October 24, 2016.

He was born on December 15, 1988 in Rocky Mount, N.C., the son of Margie Woolard Stevens and the late Mark Anthony Stevens. He is survived by a half-brother, Timmy C. Hudson; his girlfriend, Katie Parker and their son, Austin of New Bern.

Mark attended Washington High School, received his diploma from Beaufort County Community College, a “Jack of all Trades,” building things, electronics or plumbing. He was a landscaper with Toler Inc. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, four wheeling, hanging out with his friends, and never met a stranger. He was a kind, big-hearted person, very loving and caring. He was a great caretaker of his mother.

He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Janie Boswell of Kinston; aunts, Inez Boyd, Betty Lou Ingalls, Christine Clark, Erma Nobles; uncles, Oscar Woolard, James Woolard; a dear friend and companion, Candice Woolard and friend/co-worker, Wes Toler.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Margie and Lewis Woolard; uncle, Lewis Woolard; aunt, Myrtle Hollis; and two cousins, Martin Nobles and Herman Ingalls.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, October 27, 2016 from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
