Mrs. Jean Curtis Lilley, age 78, a resident of Bath, died Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at River Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Oakdale Cemetery and will be officiated by Pastor Joan Fisher.

Mrs. Lilley was born in Beaufort County on December 24, 1937 to the late Marvin and Callie Elliott Curtis. She was a 1954 graduate of Bath High School. On December 31, 1965 she married the late James W. “Jay” Lilley who preceded her in death on August 28, 2008. Mrs. Lilley worked as a supervisor for Carolina Telephone Company, and she served as a secretary for Ware’s Chapel United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and was very active as a member. Currently she attends Athen’s Chapel Church of Christ.

Survivors include three sisters, Lola Grey Davenport of Grifton, Ola Rae Gurganus and husband Floyd of Bath and Wanda Curtis of Bath.

The family will receive friends from 9:45 AM until 10:45 AM at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.
