Beginners Handgun: Revolvers and Semi-Automatics

“Beginners Handgun” is designed to give a hands-on introduction to the safe handling and proper orientation to one specific, pistol-action type for students. This course includes classroom and range time learning to shoot a specific pistol-action type.

Students will learn rules for handgun handling, the particular pistol model parts and operation, ammunition shooting fundamentals, cleaning the pistol and continued opportunities for skill development. Students must show proof of ability to legally own a firearm with either a handgun permit, a concealed-carry handgun permit or a county background check. This class costs $86.25.

A class on revolvers will take place Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A class on semi-automatic handguns will take place Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

 

Unarmed Self-Defense for Women

Self-defense training can give students new understanding about their bodies, no matter their size or their perceived ability. This class will give students basic tactics and options for unarmed self-defense. The focus will be on self-awareness and the tools for basic escapes. Students should wear comfortable clothing. This class will take place Nov. 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and costs $76.25.

 

Advanced Concealed-Carry Handgun

This class is designed to provide hands-on instruction to the safe handling and proper orientation for tactical drawing, moving and concealment and cover firing for students. It includes classroom and range time. Students will learn rules for safe gun handling and review concealed-carry law. This is not a beginner’s class. Students should have a firearm concealment holster and 50 rounds of ammunition. Students should also have proper attire, and eye and ear protection needed for range time. A copy of a valid concealed-carry handgun permit should be provided at registration. This class will take place Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and costs $86.25.
