The month of October is “Dog Adoption Month.”

During the month of October, dogs and puppies at the shelter will have an adoption fee of $55 each. This fee includes spaying/neutering, the first round of shots, a microchip and worming, for each dog adopted. This is a reduced fee with the remainder paid by the Humane Society of Beaufort County. Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.

Reann

This gorgeous 2-year-old, bi-color girl is stunning in her American shorthair coat, with design patterns created in pristine white and jet black. Max

Handsome, friendly, playful and an attentive people pleaser, that’s our Max. At 1 year old, this Retriever-mix is large, gentle, affectionate and a lover of tummy rubs. Max became homeless when his owner lost his house due to Hurricane Matthew. Now Max needs a good forever home with owner(s) willing to give him a little basic obedience training, exercise in a fenced area or on leash and love and attention.
