Doll Club to reschedule doll show

The A to Z Doll Club recently held its October meeting at China Bay Buffet in Chocowinity. Those attending included Diana Cates, Betty Ross, Marguerite Ferry, Patricia Harris, Martha Robbins, Gloria Windley, Donna and Briley Hodges, Catherine Fulford and Martha Seighman.
President Dianna called the meeting to order and Martha R. offered a blessing. Secretary Martha S. read the September minutes and Diana read the treasurer’s report. Members Shirley Woolard, Colleen Lupton and Joyce Carawan were attending a funeral, Patricia’s husband was sick, and Joyce Tucker had a doctor’s appointment.
Martha R., nominating committee chairman, stated that current officers agreed to keep their respective offices for 2017 and all were re-elected unanimously. Officers include President Diana Cates, Vice President Betty Ross, Secretary Martha Seighman and Treasurer Shirley Woolard.
The Christmas party will be held Dec. 5 at the Hitchin’ Post in Williamston.
Members in attendance approved a donation to the Jimmy Sawyer funeral home to help with expenses for the Hodges family, whose teenage son was killed while riding a dirt bike.
A final date for the rescheduled Doll Club Doll Show will be voted upon in November.
Martha R. and Gloria will be showing at the Doll Show Nov. 5 in Richmond, Virginia. Anyone wishing to go should contact Diana regarding going up on Friday night and returning on Saturday afternoon.
October birthday honorees were Patricia, Marguerite and Colleen Lupton.
All present received door prizes brought by Catherine, Diana, Martha S. and Patricia. Those participating in the Show and Tell included Marguerite, Diana and Martha Seighman.
Amber Rascoe won the raffle for the porcelain doll scheduled to have been given away at the cancelled Doll Show.
The November meeting will be held on Nov. 28 at China Bay Buffet in Chocowinity. The meeting was adjourned.
