From Beaufort County Economic Development

The Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina’s 12-member recruitment staff visited Beaufort County Tuesday and met with Beaufort and seven other area counties’ economic developers. The visit was to inform the EDPNC staff of the economic development potential of eastern North Carolina.

In addition to Beaufort County Economic Development, the other nine county economic developers presenting were from Carteret, Craven, Greene, Jones, Martin, Pamlico and Pitt counties. Each county economic developer presented an overview of the economic benefits to businesses of their county to the EDPNC staff. The event was held at the Washington Yacht & Country Club. Event sponsors were Duke Energy, ElectriCities of North Carolina, NCEast Alliance and Engineering Consulting Services.

The EDPNC is focused on recruiting new businesses to the state, supporting the needs of existing businesses, connecting exporters with customers around the globe, helping small business owners get their start and attracting tourists and visitors from all over the world.

In pursuit of sustainable job-creation and investment in North Carolina, the EDPNC works closely with public- and private-sector partners at the state, regional and local levels. As a nonprofit public-private partnership, the EDPNC operates under contract with the North Carolina Department of Commerce, while receiving significant financial support from companies and businesses throughout the state. Governed by a 17-member board of business and industry leaders representative of the entire state, the EDPNC serves as North Carolina’s statewide economic development organization to all those looking to invest in, visit or do business with North Carolina.
