Thursday at noon, a crowd gathered at Yankee Hall Plantation in Pactolus for the seventh-annual Toys for Tots Book Club Christmas Celebration. Hosted by Tea and Topics Book Club of Beaufort County, attendees stocked gifts under a Christmas tree to donate to children in need. About 30 U.S. Marines from Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point attended the event. Toys for Tots is an initiative run by the Marine Corps Reserve to provide gifts to children whose parents cannot afford them.
