CHOCOWINITY — What child could resist an up close and personal visit with Santa Claus?
Throw in heaping helpings of pancakes, scrambled eggs and sausages, and you have the makings for a special morning with the jolly old fat guy in red.
Breakfast with Santa is a new addition to this year’s line-up of yuletide activities hosted by Raised in a Barn Farm as part of its “A Country Christmas” celebration.
Youngsters are treated to a classic holiday cartoon as they await Santa’s arrival, but once he appears all eyes are on him. Even the shyest of children quickly warm up to Santa as he table-hops around the barn. Photo opportunities follow once breakfast is consumed.
The first breakfast was held Nov. 26 but don’t fret; additional gatherings are planned for Dec. 10 and 16. Space is limited (the first event quickly sold out), so farm owner Jane Boahn recommends making reservations early.
Raised in a Barn Farm has also announced a series of story times and hay rides with Santa; those dates are Dec. 9, 10, 16 and 17.
Hayrides through downtown Washington are planned for Dec. 19-23.
