Barney “BG” Waters

Barney “BG” Gray Waters, age 87, a resident of Washington, died Thursday, December 1, 2016 at River Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and will be officiated by Kent Gurganus.

BG was born in Beaufort County on January 23, 1929 to the late Richard “Dick” Wheeler and Sally Tetterton Waters. He attended Pinetown School. BG was a logger and farmer for many years. He was a member of Elizabeth Chapel Church of Christ. He also attended Ephesus Free Will Baptist.

Survivors include three stepdaughters, Cindy Hayes, Debra Renfro, Angela Huffstetler, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by four brothers and eight sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Elizabeth Chapel Church of Christ, 1998 Herring Run Road, Blounts Creek, NC 27814.

The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
