Lt. Col. Edwin E. Robbins, U.S. Army-Ret., age 83, a resident of 661 East Water Street, Belhaven, died at his home, Friday, Dec. 23, 2016. Born in Washington, NC, he was known locally as “June Bug.”

In keeping with his wishes, no funeral services will be held.

The family received friends on Monday, Dec. 26, 2016, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 477 East Main Street, Belhaven.

Lt. Col. Robbins served his country honorably for 21 years in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by five children: Edwin E. “Chuck” Robbins, III and wife, Pam, of San Diego, CA; Samuel T. “Rob” Robbins of Belhaven, NC; John G. “Gil” Robbins and wife, Della, of Pinetown, NC; Robert B. “Bert” Robbins of Greenville, NC; Tamera “Tami” Robbins Wiser and her husband, Dan, of Indian Trail, NC; and 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
