Beaufort County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay Tuesday, according to BCS officials.

The decision was made around 4 p.m. Monday.

School officials said they were concerned about icy roads and hazardous driving conditions for buses, students and staff. Main roads were mostly clear as of Monday afternoon, but secondary roads could still pose problems as temperatures dip into the low-20s tonight.

Temperatures are expected to rise above freezing, however, by 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Beaufort County Community College will operate on a regular schedule.
