Larry Paul Sadler Sr., 74, of Swan Quarter, died, Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at home surrounded by his family.
Born in Hyde County, September 28, 1942, he was the son of the late Charlie and Hazel Thompson Sadler. He was married to the former Betty Pegram who preceded him in death.
From an early age, Larry became a hardworking, big-hearted commercial fisherman.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, January 27, 2017 at the family plot in Soule Cemetery. Steven Mills will officiate.
Surviving are two sons, Michael W. Sadler and wife Jennifer of Engelhard, Larry Paul Sadler Jr. and wife Melissa of Swan Quarter; four grandchildren, Michael Dean Sadler and wife Lindsey of Belhaven, Jenna Sadler of Engelhard, Gage Sadler of Swan Quarter and Brittany Nixon of Belhaven; two great-grandchildren, Grady Sadler and Graham Sadler; two brothers, Gary Sadler and wife Lynn of Swan Quarter and Stewart Sadler and wife Kelly of Brunswick, Ga; a sister, Patsy Jo Newman of Swan Quarter; and a brother-in-law, Sammie E. Williams.
In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by son Melvin “Marty” Dean Sadler; a brother, Glenn Sadler; a sister, Diana S. Williams and a brother-in-law, Mitchell Newman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Atlantic Lodge 294, Children Christmas Fund, 5550 Sladesville Credle Road, Scranton, NC 27875.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the home place on 760 Main Street, Swan Quarter.
