2 charged in Bath store theft

Two Onslow County residents were charged for theft in Beaufort County.

On Dec. 20, 2016, at approximately 6:15 p.m., the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a larceny from the Family Dollar Store in Bath. Employees reported the two thieves were captured on the store’s video system.

After reviewing the surveillance video and other evidence collected at the scene, the two suspects were identified as John Aaron Kamienski and Samantha Anne Mancini, both from Onslow County. On Jan. 5, Investigator Jason Hill applied for and obtained warrants, charging Kamienski with two counts of felony larceny from a merchant and misdemeanor concealment of merchandise. Mancini was also charged with two counts of felony larceny from a merchant.

Kamienski and Mancini were arrested by the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office. Kamienski is currently being held in the Onslow County Detention Center under a $27,500 secured bond on the Beaufort County charges, and is also facing 15 felony charges in Onslow County including larceny, obtaining property by false pretense and possession of stolen goods.

Mancini is currently being held in the Onslow County Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond on the Beaufort County charges, and is also facing 14 felony charges in Onslow and Carteret counties, including larceny, obtaining property by false pretense and possession of stolen goods.
