Essie Cox Estep, age 81, of Plymouth, NC, passed away on February 5, 2017 at Vidant Palliative Care in Greenville, NC.

Memorial service will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Plymouth with Reverend Jimmy Hagwood officiating. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 from 1:00-2:00 pm at First Baptist Church and other times at the residence.

Born October 2, 1935 in Elizabeth City, NC, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Cox and Thelma Morris of Belhaven, and was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Randall Kent Estep, and sister, Valerie Rutherford. Essie was a loving wife and mother and was a member of Plymouth First Baptist Church.

Her family includes her sons, Wayne Kent Estep and wife Vicki of Columbus, Mississippi and William Randall Estep of Bethania, NC; brothers, Carol Cox of Harrisburg and Johnny Cox of Mississippi; sister, Lydia Tamulevich of Virginia Beach; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Plymouth First Baptist Church.
