Washington woman arrested on drug charges

On Wednesday, investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested Mary Magdalene Hodges, 46, of 319 E. 11th S. in Washington.

Hodges was charged with two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver oxycodone, a schedule II controlled substance, two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, trafficking in opiates and maintaining a dwelling to store and sell a controlled substance.

Hodges’ arrest stemmed from investigators making purchases of oxycodone pills and marijuana from her. Investigators conducted a search of Hodges’ residence and found approximately 56 grams of marijuana, digital scales, packaging material and 56 oxycodone pills.

Hodges was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond.
