From Beaufort County Farm Service Agency

Toni Woolard, program technician in the Beaufort-Hyde office, was named the recipient of the USDA Farm Service Agency District 6 Employee of the Quarter.

Farm Service Agency’s District 6 includes Martin, Washington, Tyrrell, Dare, Hyde, Beaufort, Pitt, Wilson, Greene, Craven, Pamlico, Carteret, Edgecombe and Nash counties. The purpose of this award is to recognize employees who have provided extraordinary customer service within the agency and demonstrated an extra effort to serve customers.

As the recipient of this award, Woolard will receive a certificate of recognition and the Employee of the Quarter parking sign presented by District 6 Director Debbie Houston, along with the opportunity to compete for the District 6 Employee of the Year.

Woolard has been employed with the Farm Service Agency for nine years. She is currently responsible for administrative, payment limitations and eligibility, conservation reserve program, deceased people report and farm records. In the past, she has also been responsible for the Tobacco Transition Program, reconstitutions, AFIDA, Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program and Cotton Ginning Cost Share Program. Not only does Woolard assist her producers and co-workers in the county office, but other county office employees also call her on for assistance throughout the state.

“Working for FSA has been a wonderful experience. Throughout the years, I have gained a true respect for agriculture and the participants that I am able to work with daily,” Woolard said. “It is a pleasure to work for such a great group of people!”

Woolard has one son, Gabe, who is 6 years old and attends first grade at Rodgers Elementary. He plays Upward basketball, recreation baseball and soccer and hopes to play football next season. He also enjoys golf and guitar. In the spare time this leaves, they love to fish and going to the beach.
