Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.

Requests for more information with regard to the animals appearing in Pets of the Week may be directed to shelter staff in person at the shelter during business hours or by emailing animal.control@co.beaufort.nc.us — always use the animal’s ID number.

Simba

Friendly, affectionate and a tummy-rub lover — that’s our Simba. At 1 year old, this attractive Labrador retriever-mix is a large boy with a deep, copper-colored, shorthair coat that shines, and accent of white on his chest.

An active boy, Simba will do best with an active family with owner(s) willing to give him basic obedience training, plenty of exercise in a fenced area or on leash and their love and attention, and a good forever home. His previous owner reported that Simba knows some commands, has been an outside dog, he is not recommended for a household with children under 8 years old, and he should be the only dog.

For more information, visit www.facebook.com/ENC Shelter Dogs. Simba’s ID #0217. He’s available through next Saturday at the shelter.

Henry

Gorgeous in his shorthair coat of jet black and pristine white, this 5-month-old, male, bi-color cat is gentle, alert and calm. At first fearful of his shelter surroundings, Henry is definitely coming out of his shell and showing his personable side and his magnificent beauty. Given love, affection and care, Henry will make a wonderful addition in a variety of good forever, loving, home settings.

To see more of our Henry, visit www.facebook.com/ENC Shelter Cats. Henry’s ID#0236.

Henry would love to meet you; he is available at the shelter.
