Annette Jefferson, farm loan program technician in Beaufort County, was named the recipient of the USDA Farm Service Agency District 6 Employee of the Year.

Farm Service Agency’s District 6 includes Martin, Washington, Tyrrell, Dare, Hyde, Beaufort, Pitt, Wilson, Greene, Craven, Pamlico, Carteret, Edgecombe and Nash counties. Debbie Houston serves as the FSA district director for District 6 and is delighted to present this award to such a dedicated employee as Jefferson. The purpose of this award is to recognize employees who have provided extraordinary customer service within the agency and demonstrated an extra effort to serve customers.

As the recipient of this award, Jefferson will receive a certificate of recognition and the Employee of the Year crystal monument, along with a gift card.

She began her career some 39 years ago in the Beaufort County office working with USDA. A resident of Beaufort County and living in Washington all her life, Jefferson is still helping in agriculture.

“It is an honor to continue to serve our next generation of farmers, and the teamwork in District 6 is one of the best,” Jefferson said.

She helps and supports her teammates to deliver timely programs and services to farmers in every county in District 6.

Jefferson enjoys gardening, reading a good book, playing cards, church work and touring the United States and countries in Europe.

Farm Service Agency’s mission is equitably serving farmers, ranchers and agricultural partners through the delivery of effective, efficient agricultural programs for all Americans. FSA strives to provide the farmers of Beaufort County with outstanding customer service.

Jefferson is a prime example of the extraordinary service displayed by FSA employees throughout North Carolina. Her office is located at 155-B Airport Road, Washington.
