HISTORY AND STEWARDSHIP: John Butler, co-owner of Elmwood 1820 Bed & Breakfast Inn and The Belle of Washington river cruiser, and newly appointed chief operating officer of Washington Harbor District Alliance, addressed the Washington (noon) Rotary on March 20. Butler spoke about what brought him and partner Richard Smoot to this area, the rich history and stewardship privileges in renovating Elmwood, and the payoff of their rewarding endeavors toward the growing success of Washington and Beaufort County.
