Sarah Mewborn Edwards

Sarah Mewborn Edwards, age 69, passed away on April 1, 2017 at her home in Washington.

Sarah was born in Goldsboro, NC on August 18, 1947 to the late Albert Bennett Mewborn and Edith Teel Mewborn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mac W. Edwards; siblings, Peggy Carroll, A.B. Mewborn, Robert Mooring, Mary Jo Mooring; special aunt and uncle, Mr. & Mrs. George Edwards.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, April 8, at 2:00 P.M. at the Snow Hill Presbyterian Church, officiated by Rev. Scott Hardy. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 until 2:00 P.M and at other times at the home of her son at 516 Charlotte St., Washington.

She is survived by her son, Will Watts and wife, Crystal of Washington; and their daughter Jasmine; and brother, Richard Mooring.

Sarah spent her life helping others the best that she was able as a Mental Health Social Worker for the State of NC. Her love of animals was unmatched except for her love of Tarheels Basketball. Sarah’s favorite times were spent on the front porch of the “Beach House.”

Those that knew her best will always remember her sense of humor and witty comments that made everyone smile.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Brittany Davis, RN for the care she showed Sarah.
