Mr. Ruben M. Lord, 94, of Greenville, died Wednesday, April 19, 2017.

A graveside service will be conducted Sunday at 3 pm in Pinewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday prior to the service from 1:30 to 2:30 pm at Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Mr. Lord, a native of Dexter, Georgia, had been a resident of Greenville since 1950. He had also lived in Lakeland, Florida for a number of years. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps during World War II. Mr. Lord was the owner and operator of Lord’s Jewelers and Morrows Nut House in the East Carolina Mall. He was a member of People’s Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Taylor Lord.

He is survived by his: wife, Anne Everette Lord; daughters, Sandra L. Clark and husband, Mitchell, of Chocowinity, June L. Taunton and husband, Jim, of Winterville; stepdaughters, Rita Braxton, Burlington, NC and Janet Hall and husband, Bill, of Greenville; stepson, Matt Holder and wife, Leah, of Greenville; grandchildren, Michael and David Jones, Jameson Taunton and wife, Brooke, Jared Taunton and wife, Nina, and Jordan Taunton and fiancé, Ashton; and two great-grandchildren.
